Q. How did you get started in Real Estate?
A. Previously, I owned a successful Tupperware franchise. When it was time to move on, we decided to dip our toe into the house flipping business. Just being introduced to the world of real estate was all it took.
I was hooked!!
I decided to get my Real Estate License and 14.5 years later, I still love coming to work every single day.
Getting into Real Estate was one of the best decisions of my life.
While you may not think owning a Tupperware Franchise and selling homes have much in common, they really do. Tupperware trained us as their franchise owners to “Build the people and they will build you.”
I owe my successful real estate practice to this very same principle. Making sure the clients who choose me to represent them are well prepared, are thoroughly educated about the process and protected from potential pittfalls (to the best of my ability)…That’s my #1 priority.
Q. Why did you choose to work only with Buyers?
A. In the normal Real Estate world, I don’t think Buyers get the attention they deserve. And honestly, they do take a lot of time…sometimes months to find the right house.
As a Buyer Specialist, I get to focus all of my time on their needs without being distracted by the demands that pull on most solo agent’s time.
I found I loved teaching them the right way to approach buying a home…
I really want to understand what their needs are…what the perfect house looks like to them…
And together we figure out what path we need to follow to reach their goal.
I’ve also seen buyers, especially first time buyers, being taken advantage of by unscrupulous vendors along the way.
From lenders to repair people, I am especially proud of the network and relationships I’ve developed over the years that I trust completely. Knowing I can recommend any of these businesses to my clients when there is a need only makes my job more satisfying. .
Q. What would you like today’s buyers to know?
A. That’s an easy one…BE PREPARED!!
With our current low inventory situation, the most desirable homes get multiple offers hours after they go on the market.
If you’re serious about buying a home, you need to be pre-approved before you ever look at your first home.
“What are you going to do,” I warn them, “If you find the perfect house and fall in love right out of the gate?” By the time you go back and get pre-approved, the home you wanted so badly could already be gone to another buyer that’s ready to go.”
And don’t be tempted to put in a low-ball offer “just to see”…those days are past! It is a seller’s market right now and you could be competing fiercely with other buyers just to get the home you want.

Life outside of Real Estate…
Valerie’s biggest joy outside of helping buyers is spending time with her family. When not attending a sports event with her husband John – a sports announcer for a local radio station – she can be found hanging out with her three kids or attending her eight grand children’s many school events and activities.
Her favorite thing to do, though, is to go bowling with her 5 year old grandson. He arranges the details and calls Grandma to ask he for a date!
Knowing how much family means to her, John set out to make a recent milestone birthday an event Valerie will never forget. He single handedly arrange her mega-birthday party with a gathering of as many family, friends and co-workers he could round up…including her brother and mother all the way from Florida!
John knew how to make Valerie feel like a Queen…and this party will always be a highlight of her life.
